Reducing water use is another key issue of our Target 2012 campaign that NG Bailey is progressing towards achieving. Following an extensive exercise to establish our baseline we have identified that we have so far acheived a reduction in our corporate water consumption by 5% and are on course to reduce this further through improvements that have already been implemented in water efficiency on our estate. Measures implemented include the introduction of waterless urinals and rainwater harvesting systems in various offices that we occupy.
The chart below shows our consumption for the last three years.

In 2010/11 a project was completed which tested practical and implementable measure to cut water usage during the commissioning phases of building services, particularly the flushing of pipework. An NG Bailey team worked on creating a prototype product which enables water used for cleansing pipework to be recovered, cleansed and reused in the flushing process and could reduce NG Bailey's site water use by an estimated 10,000m3.
